We welcome submissions of canine friendly events to our calendar. We post community and nonprofit events at no charge. If your canine related business is having an event, workshop, class, etc. and you would like to be listed on our calendar page, we will be happy to include your event for a $15 fee. Info: Pooches in the Park is a unique opportunity for Santa Cruz dog lovers to showcase their pets in an environment that fosters education, advocacy, and fun. Register your dog, and take part in the Dog Pride Costume Parade!

Admission (for humans) is free; the dog registration fee is $5.00. Dogs must be at least 6 months old to participate.

There will be lots of activities for everyone to enjoy--contests, performances, demonstrations, kids’ activities, rescue organizations, specialty vendors, low cost vaccinations, and delicious animal and human food will be available.

WALK to END PET HOMELESSNESS in Monterey County! This is a terrific way to help raise money and awareness for the animals and for The SPCA for Monterey County.

Wag n’ Walk is a fun people and pets walk-a-thon that provides a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, take a walk on the scenic recreational trail along the Monterey Bay, and enjoy a fun filled morning; including a complimentary continental breakfast, entertainment, light lunch, great incentive prizes and contests. And all of it will help end the tragedy of pet homelessness.

9th Annual C-Dog Spring Dog Festival

The Festival is in its ninth year and is the Central Coast’s largest dog event with shows in 3 rings and a stage with many activities for dogs and their people. From the parade to the fashion show, lure coursing to Frisbee dogs the day is dedicated to fun for dogs and their families. Over 100 volunteers every year help raise funds to help many non-profit animal charities and animal education for children.

Dog Days is a celebration of the dog.  Prizes awarded to the dog who:  has the best bark, is so ugly they’re cute, has the “waggiest” tail, looks so much like you it’s crazy and does the funniest pet trick.  The pooch parade costume contest will award prizes for the best duo or group in costume and most unique costume.  We will also crown the King and Queen of Dog Days!  We will have “Rescue Row” as well as many breed specific groups.  We will have numerous doggie demonstrations happening throughout the day including, herding, obedience, agility, and many others. We will be offering AKC Canine Good Citizen testing.  

Goodie bags to the first 100 people through the gate.

Info: Aside from the some of the most innovative year–round dog events in the Bay Area, the 'lime green machine' (with Mad Dog at the wheel) is now taking dog lovers on exciting excursions with their pooches to dog-friendly destinations! As always our ongoing group dog walks known as Bark in the Dark and Weekend Dog Walks are free to Pre–Furred Members & Basic Members and offer a great way for you and your dog to get exercise, socialize and meet new friends...as well as establish good behavior traits in a safe environment! Most special events and bus rides are available to both Pre–Furred Members of the Society Dog ® Pack and to Basic Members alike. 'Pre–Furred Members', however, will receive advance notice and special member prices at events as well as many other special benefits. The goal of Society Dog is to promote the socialization of dogs and create a community of dog lovers that enjoy unusually fun events with their pets.
